My Study Abroad Experience
Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, Spain
Spring 2024

My Story
While abroad, I studied at a Cervantes-certified higher-education institute for teaching Spanish as a second language: la Universidade de Santiago de Compostela. Here, I interacted and actively engaged with other international students from various proficiency levels (C1, C2, B1, etc. in accordance with the DELE exam). The Cursos Internacionales also allowed, and highly encouraged its students to further explore Hispanic records, literature, dance, and art each week. The groups from Lawrence College and Clemson University also participated in a two-day journey on the Camino de Santiago, where we visited historic landmarks and immersed ourselves in the pilgrims' culture. Morning classes were strictly dedicated to studying Spanish composition and grammar, while afternoon classes changed each month to focus on either business, art and music, tourism, or health.
